The Rojek MSP 315 12'' Combined Planer and Thicknesser comes with a Spiral Cutterhead that has 78 carbide inserts, each with four indexable edges. These carbide inserts are positioned at a slight angle to the board feeding, allowing for a shear cut that eliminates tear-out and provides a glossy surface finish on hardwood, softwood, and man-made board. The cutterhead also reduces noise during operation. If an edge becomes dull or chipped, simply rotate it 90 degrees to obtain a new sharp edge. The inexpensive carbide inserts can be discarded when all four edges are worn, without needing to sharpen them. This reduces downtime and the need for sanding work. The Sheartak spiral cutter heads also reduce power consumption and prevent dust clogging at the hood port.
