The spiral cutterhead for the Grizzly 13-inch planer G0889 is equipped with 48 carbide inserts. With 4 indexable edges on each side, it will increase the machine's lifetime as they only need to be replaced only when all four sides are dull. They create an angled feeding to the board, generating a shear cut and eliminating tear-out. The spiral cutterhead will ensure a better, smoother finish on softwood and even on highly figured lumber. It also dramatically reduces operation noise and sanding work, making dust extraction much easier. Each Sheartak cutterhead is shipped with a standard kit of 5 extra carbide inserts, 5 extra screws and a wrench as free parts. They also come with Japan-sealed bearings for life use.
